Turn on offline mode and your campaigns stay on this device. You can prep and run a session with no connection, and Wyrdli sends your changes when you're back online.
Offline mode keeps a copy of your campaigns on this device. When the connection drops, at a table with no signal or on a train, Wyrdli keeps working, and what you change goes up when you're back online.
It's off until you turn it on, and you turn it on one device at a time. Your laptop and your phone each have their own switch. On a shared or borrowed computer, leave it off.
It keeps the campaigns you run as GM. Campaigns you play in aren't kept, and players need a connection.
Find the "Offline mode" row in the sidebar, just above Notifications. It says "Off on this device".
Turn on its switch. You need a connection for this.
Wyrdli saves your campaigns on this device. The row says "Saving campaigns…" and counts them, for example "6 of 15". On a phone the first download can take a while, so do it on wifi.
When the row says "Available offline", you're set. Below it you see how many campaigns are kept and when they were last updated.
While you're online, Wyrdli keeps the copy up to date every few minutes. To use Wyrdli with no connection, open it in the same browser, or in the installed app, on this device.
Click the row's text for a short reminder of what offline mode does.
If the row says "Not available in this browser", this browser can't keep the copy and there's no switch. Try another browser.
What you need to prep and run a session:
every record in your campaigns: create, edit, delete
the canvas
the calendar
sessions: attendance, starting and ending, decisions, facts
the run screen: playing scenes, the current scene, tension, knives, consequences
merging records
artwork already saved on the device
dice rolls, rolled on the device. Only you see them.
Character sheets belong to your players. Offline you can read them but not edit them.
Create the session you're about to play while you're still online.
These buttons are greyed out offline and say "Needs a connection":
AI: AI writing in the editor, the assistant, image generation, recaps, session analysis, scene and decision ideas, Find knives
Discord: posting to your channel, picking a server or channel, Discord settings
recording and transcription, uploads included
the audio player, the audio library and playlists
notes import and data export
Party notes and player notes are read-only offline.
A locked campaign stays locked offline, and it isn't saved on the device.
The row turns amber and says "You're offline", with the number of changes waiting, for example "3 changes will be sent when you reconnect". Keep working as usual.
Wyrdli sends your changes by itself. If you've been away for more than seven days, Wyrdli asks you to log in again. Your changes wait and go out after you log in.
Each change counts as a normal save, so anything that runs after a save runs then and uses AI credits as usual.
Say you edited a scene on your laptop while offline and on your phone while online. If the two edits touched different paragraphs, Wyrdli keeps both by itself.
Anything else that changed in both places waits for you. The top bar shows a button like "2 changes need you", and the record's page says "This record has changes that need you." The button opens "Changes that need you", with "This device" and "Server" side by side.
For a record changed in both places, pick "This device", "Server" or "Merged" for each field, then press "Apply my choices". To settle the whole record at once, use "Keep mine", "Keep theirs" or "Edit a merged version".
The other cases each have their own two buttons:
something you edited was deleted on the server: "Restore it with my edits" or "Let the deletion stand"
something you deleted was changed on the server: "Delete anyway" or "Keep theirs"
a change the server couldn't apply: "Retry" or "Discard"
Turn off the switch while you're online. Wyrdli asks "Turn off offline mode?". Press "Turn off and delete" and the copy is deleted from this device. Turn the switch back on to download it again.
If changes are still waiting, you can't turn it off yet. The row says "Send the 3 waiting changes first".
Logging out deletes the copy from this device, but the switch stays on, so your next login here downloads your campaigns again. If some changes haven't been sent, Wyrdli tells you "You have changes that were not sent" and offers "Send now" or "Discard and log out".
Nobody else who logs in on this browser sees your copy.
