A Character is the mechanical record sheet a player owns. It carries the attributes the system rolls against, the advancement points the player has spent and has left to spend, and the strikes the Character is currently carrying. The Discord slash commands (/character create, /character details, /character advance, /character history) operate on the Character.
A Character belongs to its player. You, the GM, do not author it. The GM-side narrative handle on a player's Character is the PC, and the GM-driven cast lives in NPCs.
Characters are created by the player, not the GM. On Discord, the player runs /character create with a name in the Campaign's channel. The bot creates the Character, attaches it to the player's Discord account, and seeds it with the starting attribute tiers and the nine starting advancement points. From then on, /character details shows the sheet, with a roll button per attribute.
Avatars are attached with /character set avatar; the name can be changed later with /character set name.
Day to day, the Character lives on Discord. The player calls /character details to see their sheet and roll, runs /character advance to spend an advancement point on an attribute, and reads /character history to see when each point was spent and what it raised.
In the app, the Character surfaces on the Session page (advancement Events from the night) and on its own detail page (the sheet, the avatar, the advancement log). The GM doesn't directly edit a Character's attributes; the system writes them through advancement Events. If you want to reshape who a player's Character is in the fiction, work on the matching PC instead.
During play, the GM can call /gm strike to add a strike, or /gm heal to remove one. Three strikes means critically wounded.
